Dear Go Friends,

we are inviting you to participate in our Pro Go Cup, the Go tournament which is opened to all Go players, begginers or masters, under the motto:

"Play Go - Train the Brain"

the tournament will be held  in Niš, on May 25th-26th, 2024. 

Pro Go Cup is the last stage of Go school organized in one of Niš elementary schools. Go students will have a chance to participate in their first Go tournament, together with Go players from Serbia and abroad.


No matter if you are beginner or experienced player, you are very welcome to join us!

From this year, Pro Go Cup is also a part of 

KEKS GO/BRIDGE MEMORIAL

in memory to the deceased Mijodrag Stanković - Keks, the most successful Serbian master of Go and the President of the Serbian Go Association. Keks was also very
successful Bridge player in Niš Bridge Club "Srce". 


Organizers of the Memorial are Serbian Go Association, Bridge club "Srce" and Go club "Pro Go".

Participants of all ages and strength are welcome to register on-line or on-site, until the registration closing!

Saturday, May 25th:

  • 20:00 Welcome Party

Sunday, December 24th:

  • 10:00 Fourth round (4)

  • 13:00 Fifth round (5)

  • 16:00 Awarding and Closing Ceremony


SYSTEM: MacMahon, Japanese rules (6.5 komi)

TIME: 60 minutes + 3x30 sec (or 10/25) byoyomi


ENTRY FEE (for players above 18 years):

  • Registration until May 10th: 1800,00 RSD (15,00 EUR).

  • Registration from May 11th to 24th: 2300,00 RSD (20,00 EUR).

  • Registration on May 25th: 3000,00 RSD (25,00 EUR).

Prizes

  • Top three places
  • The best kyu player
  • The best lady player
  • Player with 5 wins
  • Best young players (U18, U12)

Arrival

Niš is easily accessible:

By Airplane:
According to the valid time-table, flights to Niš airport are possible from: Vienna, Cologne/Bonn, Memmingen, Frankfurt Hahn, Dortmund, Basel, Istanbul, Ljubljana. Malta (Refer to Airport Niš flights information).

By Car:
Highways connect Niš with Belgrade (230 km), Sofia (160 km) and Skopje (200 km).

By Bus:
Ekspres bus lines from Belgrade to Niš are available on every hour. Most are direct. A bus trip takes 3 hours approximately.

Niš is connected by direct bus-lines with Sofia,Skoplje, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Istanbul, Budapest, Thessaloniki, Vienna and a number of other cities in Europe.

By Train:
 NOT RECOMMENDED!

Accomodation

Recommended in the Guest House of the tournament venue:

  • Single room 1.900,00 RSD per night,

  • Double room 3.100,00 RSD per night.
